Livebookings is holding its 5th and final Academy of 2009

07 December 2009

Online restaurant marketing expert Livebookings is holding its fifth and final Academy event of the year on Thursday 10th December.

The workshop will look towards 2010, with the aim of suggesting New Year's resolutions for restaurateurs, and ways to ensure business success.

Those who attend will be presented with highlights from all the previous academies to help them develop their restaurant. This will include information on the importance of smart marketing to raise customer awareness, how to develop effective email marketing and brand building, and how to harness the power of social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook to secure more diners.

Speakers at the session will include Annaliese Hainz, key account manager at Livebookings, Matthew Kirby, client services director at Fishbowl UK, Paul West, managing director at Ignite Hospitality Consultants, and Magnus Hultberg, head of product management at Livebookings.

They will also be discussing the increase in new customers booking online, with new figures showing that covers booked for restaurants online this year have more than doubled from last year – a new record for the company. It means that Livebookings can expect to have booked over 4 million covers for its restaurant clients in 2009.

Olivia FitzGerald, Livebookings UK and Ireland general manager, said: "We've had a great year with the Academies and we want to go out with a bang. As many businesses are currently setting their objectives for 2010, we hope to offer insight and advice on how restaurants can boost their covers through online marketing. Our teams' top tips for success are not to be missed."
